Traffic Lights in Mitton Street

"I am sure like everyone else who uses Severn Road after shopping at Tesco in Stourport, you have encountered long delays in getting through the lights onto Mitton Street. In response to a number of complaints, I have taken this up with Worcestershire County Council Highways Department. They say nothing can be done due to Mitton Street being a one-way system.

The problem is that traffic in Mitton Street is being caught between light changes, not allowing the Severn Road traffic to 'go' even on a green light. They will not put a yellow box system in because there is not an out road for the congested traffic.

The light sequence is on maximum.

It is a pity the Highways Department did not foresee this problem when the Tesco supermarket was built."
